Religion and environment

Today humanity is facing a global ecological crisis. There is a close relationship between religion and environment. There is a central belief among the religions that God creates the nature and we have to protect it.

Importance of religion

Basically, Hindu scriptures revealed a clear understanding of the ecosystem. On this basis, a discipline of environmental ethics developed with formulated codes of conduct (dharma) and defined humanity’s relationship to nature.

The effectiveness of any religion in preserving the environment depends upon how much belief its believers have in its precepts and injunctions.

Shree Radhe Guru Maa said that “Nature has enough for everybody’s need but not for everybody’s greed. We can still avoid the global environmental crisis.”
