What comes to mind when we think about prayer? Often, we think about prayer requests, those lists of appeals to bring before God. God welcomes us to come to Him through our prayers, but prayer is more than that.
Mother Teresa said that “Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.”
Shree Radhe Guru Maa believes that prayer is seeking the presence of God and listening to Him with our heart.
Importance of Praying
Prayer is pivotal and essential. Prayer is meant to line us up in His will and with His empowerment. Being faithful in worship is the vital mechanism for reaching others with the faith. Nothing of value can accrue to you or through you without prayer. Prayer is our key to God’s door. We can realize God only by doing regular Sadhana.
Prayer is not just talking to God. It is also meant to link us to Him and develop our relationship with Him so we can build our faith, character, maturity, and then our witness.
In addition to humility, prayer offers the peace of an eternal perspective that comes from acknowledging God as real and present.
As a result, Prayer provides the ultimate perspective on our lives.
